Features: The operating room is the place where surgical and related specialty patients undergo surgery. It has always been a crucial department that hospitals pay great attention to and focus on. The management level of the operating room, surgical nursing coordination, and professional standards directly impact the success of surgeries. Especially with the continuous development of modern medicine, advancements in surgical techniques, anesthesia methods, equipment, and surgical instruments have been rapid, placing even greater demands on nurses to improve their operating room management skills and technical expertise. In this context, there is an urgent need for a comprehensive and systematic book that introduces operating room management and coordination for various specialties.
In light of this, we invited senior nursing experts from influential hospitals across the country to compile this "Practical Surgical Coordination Manual" as a reference for operating room nurses at all levels of hospitals. "Practical Surgical Coordination Manual" is a series of large-scale reference books, including seven volumes: "Operating Room Nursing Management," "Surgical Coordination for General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery," "Surgical Coordination for Orthopedics," "Surgical Coordination for Cardiothoracic Surgery and Neurosurgery," "Surgical Coordination for Urology, Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, and Burn Surgery," "Surgical Coordination for Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Maxillofacial Surgery," and "Practical Surgical Instrument Atlas." The content of the entire series is comprehensive, rich, and up-to-date, reflecting the concept of holistic nursing while highlighting the characteristics of the operating room. The book closely integrates basic surgeries with newly developed ones, elaborating on key coordination points in detail. The surgical steps and coordination are clear, well-organized, and standardized, fully demonstrating the advanced level of domestic surgical practices. The authors have integrated the management knowledge and professional skills that modern operating room specialists must master throughout the book, striving for practicality and close alignment with clinical needs to cultivate qualified operating room specialists.
"Practical Surgical Coordination for Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Maxillofacial Surgery" is a reference book for operating room nursing professionals, jointly compiled by The Xiangya Hospital Affiliated to Central South University and The China-Japan Friendship Hospital. The book is divided into three parts, all written by experienced operating room nurses with rich clinical experience. It covers surgical coordination for ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and maxillofacial surgery. Each part begins with an overview, emphasizing the facility requirements, specialized items, and nursing operation characteristics of the relevant surgical specialties. The remaining chapters focus on surgical coordination, highlighting local anatomy, indications for surgery, anesthesia methods, preparation of materials, and surgical steps, as well as coordination details, to enhance mutual understanding among nurses from different specialties and improve medical quality and work efficiency.
During the writing process, we were fortunate to receive guidance and assistance from educational professionals and specialists from The Xiangya Hospital Affiliated to Central South University, including Xiao Jianyun, Li Yuanbin, Jian Chunxin, Xu Xueliang, and Tian Xiang'e, among others. We sincerely express our heartfelt gratitude for their contributions.
