The rich and varied "stories" behind the mountains and waters are the main characteristics of Chinese landscapes. Due to the long-standing civilization and historical heritage, as well as the long-term agricultural life, the "stories" behind the mountains and waters in China are particularly abundant, meaning that the cultural landscapes are especially rich, and the accumulation of historical and cultural heritage is particularly profound. This series blends landscape aesthetics, anecdotes and legends, literary works about mountains and waters, and local customs and traditions, offering everyone a "comprehensive collection of mountain and water stories." Mountain and water sentiment is a special cultural mindset formed by our ancestors in the long agricultural society. The publication of this series in its current form is the result of the joint efforts of many colleagues and friends. In particular, Mr. Luo Zhewen, who traveled across the mountains and forests to protect cultural heritage, and the renowned photographers Gu Di, Li Yuxiang, Wu Yinnan, and Li Xiangde provided a wealth of photographs of cultural relics, historic sites, and mountain and water art, adding a rich classical poetic charm to the series.
