Features: On the night of August 20, 1940, the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, the 129th Division, and the 120th Division launched a campaign under the unified command of the Eighth Route Army, with the primary objective of disrupting the Zhengtai Railway. Three days after the campaign began, a total of 105 divisions of the Eighth Route Army participated, hence the name "Hundred Regiments Campaign." On August 22, 1940, the 120th Division and the 129th Division of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, under the unified command of the Eighth Route Army, launched a campaign with the primary objective of disrupting the Zhengtai Railway. By the third day of the campaign, the Eighth Route Army had already deployed 105 divisions, hence the name Hundred Regiments Campaign. This was the largest-scale frontal offensive in the history of China's War of Resistance against Japan. It over 46,000 enemy soldiers and the Kuomintang's slander that the Communist Party "only advocates guerrilla warfare and avoids direct confrontation." The Hundred Regiments Campaign cut off the Japanese army's transportation and supply lines, delayed the Japanese army's advance southward, boosted the morale of the people across the nation, and enhanced the reputation of the Communist Party's Eighth Route Army.
