Features: Faced with epilepsy, a stubborn disease that has plagued humanity for thousands of years, the worries, pains, and despair of patients and their families often haunt my mind. The excessive expectations, doubts, and unfortunate experiences shared in their letters and calls over years, even decades, made me deeply feel the need to write this small book for them. The purpose is not to provide a complete understanding of epilepsy but to help people recognize it and dispel various misconceptions. On the basis of accurate diagnosis, treatment should be conducted in a standardized manner. At the same time, I call on people from all walks of society to care for and support epilepsy patients, eliminating deeply rooted prejudices and discrimination. Currently, the treatment of epilepsy is no longer just the responsibility of doctors; the efforts of patients, their families, and society as a whole are indispensable. The International League Against Epilepsy has launched a global campaign. To help epilepsy patients escape their nightmares and shadows, Beijing has already taken action. The establishment of the Anti-Epilepsy Association, along with numerous lectures and discussions, has created an exceptionally fervent atmosphere. People are shouting: "We need such lectures! We need society's understanding!" I was moved by this, and I hope this book can join this movement.
