Features: The practice of Chinese martial arts fitness exercises is closely related to human body acupoints. To engage in these activities correctly, scientifically, and effectively, it is essential to have a basic understanding of acupoints. However, traditional Chinese medical classics are vast and the language is often obscure, making it inconvenient for general readers to browse and consult. To facilitate readers, this book arranges the 360 most common acupoints in both stroke order and Pinyin index, compiling them into a handy manual for easy retrieval. Each acupoint is accompanied by a location diagram, making it clear at a glance. Each entry also lists the name and interpretation of the acupoint, its location description, functions, and commonly treated conditions.
In clinical practice, traditional Chinese medicine and Qigong commonly use three methods for locating acupoints:
1. Bone measurement method
2. Finger measurement method
3. Anatomical landmark method
This book adopts the second method, the finger measurement method. This method uses the length or width of the recipient's own fingers as the standard for measurement. The specific methods include:
(1) Middle finger measurement: The length of the second joint of the middle finger is set as one inch.
(2) Thumb measurement: The width of the thumb's joint is set as one inch.
(3) Two-finger measurement: The width of the index and middle fingers is set as 1.5 inches.
(4) Four-finger measurement: The width of the index, middle, ring, and little fingers is set as 3 inches.
