Author: Huang Kecheng

Publish Date: 2004-12-01
Features: In the years before his death, Huang Kecheng made a detailed recollection of his life experiences. At that time, his eyesight was nearly lost, so he narrated his story while his wife Tang Duhua and his children faithfully recorded and compiled it. The events described in the book are all told by Huang Kecheng himself, which is why the People's Publishing House chose the title "Huang Kecheng's Autobiography," a very appropriate choice. "Huang Kecheng's Autobiography" was published in October 1994 and has been reprinted three times, producing a significant impact in various circles. Some parts of the book were included in the "Huang Kecheng Military Writings," which was reviewed and approved by the Central Military Commission. For this reedition, we have supplemented the original "Autobiography" with three speeches and some historical photographs. All three speeches were narrated by Huang Kecheng. One is his speech at the Lushan Conference in 1959, and the other two are his two talks in the 1980s about the evaluation of Mao Zedong and Lin Biao. All three speeches were selected from the "Huang Kecheng Military Writings," and we have revised the text. The historical photographs were provided by Huang Kecheng's children. The reedition of "Huang Kecheng's Autobiography" will help readers gain a more comprehensive understanding of this great proletarian revolutionary and military figure's extraordinary life and his outstanding contributions to the Party, as well as a deeper appreciation of his broad-mindedness and his consistent adherence to truth-seeking and pragmatism.
