Features: In 1913, Alfred S. Warthin, a pathology professor at the University of Michigan, first reported a series of cancer-affected families, among which the most famous is Family G. In 1966, Henry Lynch and others reported the high clustering of colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and endometrial cancer patients in two large families and named it "Familial Cancer Syndrome." The following decades, especially the last 20 years, have been a period of rapid development in the field of hereditary colorectal tumors, as well as a significant stage in human understanding of colorectal tumors. Overall, the research on colorectal tumors covers the following three aspects: clinical research, tumor epidemiological research, and tumor molecular research. In terms of hereditary colorectal tumors, substantial progress has been made in all three areas in recent years. This inspired the author to compile this book. The book consists of 31 chapters and over 800,000 words, with each chapter written by experts from around the world in that field. Contributors include Professor C. J. H. VandeVelde, Chairman of the Dutch Colorectal Cancer Organization; Professor Fumio Konishi, Chairman of the Japanese Colorectal Cancer Organization; Professor Seow-Choen F, Chairman of the Singapore Colorectal Cancer Organization; Professor Ernest T. Hawk, Director of Prevention at the National Cancer Center of the United States; and Professor Joseph Sung from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, among other renowned international experts. Additionally, it includes a large number of epidemiological experts led by Professor Shen Fumin from Fudan University, a leading genetic epidemiologist in China, as well as molecular geneticists led by Professor Huang Shangzhi, Director of the Center for Chinese Genetic Medicine at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, a prominent molecular geneticist in China. It is truly our honor to have invited so many experts to contribute to this book! It is a honor for the colorectal cancer research community in China.
