Features: The intrinsic connection between political culture, its modernization, and political civilization is very close: the modernization process adds new qualities to political culture, and this new political culture supports the rationality and legitimacy of the modernization process, while also elevating the overall level of political civilization. This book describes the trajectory of political cultural changes during China's modernization process, revealing the direction of political culture in China's modernization. The political cultural heritage in China's modernization process is rich and heavy, and traditional political culture severely hinders China's modernization. From the mid-19th century to the early 20th century, Chinese political culture gradually broke through the confines of imperial autocracy and the consciousness of subjects, infusing it with the spirit of a democratic republic. However, due to the limitations of class and the era, it could not complete the modern transformation of traditional Chinese political culture. The New Democratic Revolution established a national, scientific, popular, and democratic political culture, which preliminarily completed the modern transformation of traditional Chinese political culture. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Communist Party of China began to explore a brand-new political culture in the process of socialist modernization. This exploration process is intertwined with successes and failures, and is filled with both experience and lessons, preliminarily establishing a relatively mature political culture with Chinese characteristics under socialism. Today, this political culture is further developing and improving under new historical conditions.
