Features: The content and language of this book are innovative, with the main source materials being English encyclopedias, professional books, and journals published in recent years abroad. The book consists of 18 units, each unit's text is composed of Aviation Terms, Text, Exercises, and Supplementary Reading. Civil Aviation English falls under the category of "English for Specific Purposes (ESP)," commonly known as "professional English." For, one of the major obstacles in learning professional English is understanding and mastering professional terminology and background knowledge. To address this, we have designed an Aviation Terms section in each unit of the book, providing Chinese corresponding terms and English definitions for relevant professional terms. Each unit includes a text of approximately 900-1200 words, accompanied by annotations, a glossary, and related exercises. The main purpose of the text exercises is to help students consolidate their understanding of learned terms and text comprehension, as well as improve their translation skills in Civil Aviation English (including words and phrases, as well as sentences and paragraphs). Additionally, each unit includes a Supplementary Reading to expand reading volume on topics related to the text and reinforce and enhance reading comprehension skills. To facilitate self-study, the book provides reference answers for the exercises in each unit. At the end of the book, all Aviation Terms from the units are compiled in alphabetical order as a Glossary of Aviation Terms for easy reference and learning.
