Prescriptions, as the name suggests, refer to ready-made formulas that have been clinically tested and proven effective. They are the crystallization of the practical experience of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners in flexibly applying the theory, methods, formulas, and medications of TCM to treat and heal patients. They are the product of a close integration of TCM theory and clinical practice.
To promote the prosperity and development of the TCM industry, inherit and carry forward the academic thoughts and experiences of modern famous TCM practitioners, and better alleviate the suffering of patients from diseases, we organized a team of teachers, doctors, and graduate students from the Clinical Medical College of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine to screen over 2,100 effective and distinctive TCM prescriptions from medical journals published domestically in the past decade. These prescriptions were compiled into this book.
The prescriptions collected in this book can be used to treat more than 270 diseases across various departments, including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, urology, anorectal surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and more. Each prescription consists of several parts: origin, composition, usage, efficacy, indications, and notes. The notes primarily introduce modifications and additions to the prescriptions, observations on their efficacy, pharmacological research, and precautions.
