Features: About Wuzi Jian: The Qing scholar Zou Wuwo once remarked, "Wuzi Jian can be considered a compendium of the 21 dynasties." It narrates history from ancient times to the Ming Dynasty in five-character rhyming verses, clear and fluent, easy to read and remember, standing out in the traditional elementary education collections. Wuzi Jian is a condensed narrative history, particularly suitable for children's reading and memorization. This is also one of the reasons it has remained popular for so long. For example, the Record of Qin includes historical stories such as Buwei presenting the concubine, burning books and burying scholars, the burning of the Palace of Azure Clouds, pointing a deer as a horse, the banquet at Hongmen, meeting the old man on the embankment, enduring humiliation under the horse, relying on a poor woman for food, and the farewell of the King of Chu and his concubine. This book clarifies major historical events in concise language, making it succinct yet comprehensive. Interest is the best teacher. Beyond official history, Wuzi Jian also widely incorporates myths, legends, and anecdotes, greatly stimulating children's reading interest. If you want children to learn about history, start with Wuzi Jian! Professor Wang Caigui of Zhongli Normal University, the global initiator of "Children Reading Classics," believes that a person's life involves learning a vast amount, which can be simply divided into scientific knowledge (such as mathematics and physics) and non-scientific knowledge (such as art, music, and literature). The transmission of scientific knowledge should follow scientific methods, i.e., "teach the second step only after the first is understood," while the transmission of non-scientific knowledge relies on "exposure and gradual improvement." For every child, school performance is not important; what matters is cultivating their interest in learning and the ability to think and solve problems through education. The old saying goes, "At three, one's fate is set." Child psychology research shows that the period from 0 to 13 is the best time for memory in a person's life. During this time, their ability to absorb is like a sponge. If you give them classics, they will absorb them deeply into their hearts. As they grow older, the essence of these classics will gradually ferment within them, and from then on, "walking alongside the classics and associating with the sages" will permeate their lives! Classics are works that awaken human nature, opening up people's wisdom! They can reach the deepest parts of a person's soul, cultivating an elegant temperament and a kind-hearted character! Classical Chinese, as the language of literature, is the language used in most classics, refined and elevated over millennia into beautiful, concise, and precise language. In the long history of China's 5,000-year civilization, the classics that have endured to this day are the Five Classics, the Six Histories, the Four Books, and the Collected Works, which contain a wealth of idioms, ethics, humanities, history, and customs of Chinese culture. Under the influence of these classics, children will naturally exude an elegant aura, become knowledgeable and polite, have broad minds, and greatly enhance their learning ability. To facilitate children's recitation, teachers and parents can explain as needed. This book is based on the annotations of the Ruan Edition of the Thirteen Classics and various versions, after careful research, interpretation, and phonetic annotation, adopting a novel and exquisite layout design suitable for both children and adults: large characters that do not strain the eyes, easy-to-read pinyin, eye-catching two-color phonetic annotations, annotations to clarify doubts, and illustrations to cultivate interest, as well as voice recordings to make learning fun. We recommend that teachers and parents guide children in reciting the classics in the order of "New Moon Classics." We will release three series of New Moon Classics. The first series of recitation books should be completed before the age of 13, i.e., before elementary school graduation, requiring students to read them thoroughly and ideally memorize them: ① The Analects ② Laozi·The Great Learning·The Doctrine of the Mean ③ The Book of Songs ④ Mencius ⑤ The Book of Changes ⑥ Three Hundred Poems of the Tang Dynasty ⑦ The Book of Documents ⑧ Zhuangzi ⑨ The Songs of Chu ⑩ Sources of Ancient Poetry The second series of early learning recitation books should be completed before elementary school graduation, for supplementary reading only: ① Three-Character Classic·Hundred Family Surnames·Thousand-Character Classic ② Thousand Poems ③ The Classic of Filial Piety·The Rules for Students·The Enriching Wisdom of the ④ The Rhythm of Sounds·The Rhymes of Master Lü ⑤ The Treasury of Knowledge for Children ⑥ Wuzi Jian ⑦ The Shadow of the Dragon and the Whip The third series of reading books should be completed during the junior high school stage, requiring only reading: ① The Book of Rites ② Xunzi ③ The Book of Rites ④ The Book of Rites ⑤ The Book of Rites ⑥ Zuo Zhuan ⑦ Records of the Grand Historian ⑧ Strategies of the Warring States ⑨ The Spring and Autumn Annals of Lü Buwei ⑩ The Art of War·Thirty-Six Stratagems·The Six ⑾ Essays on Ancient Chinese Prose ⑿ Three Hundred Poems of the Song Dynasty ⒀ Three Hundred Quatrain of the Yuan Dynasty Let us give our children genius education when they are geniuses, and quickly join the ranks of reading classics and reciting classics!
