Features: Since Su Dongpo personified West Lake as Xi Shi over a thousand years ago, West Lake has ceased to be merely a natural lake. People often appreciate it from the perspective of admiring beauty, and even beyond personification, they impose higher artistic demands on it. This is the author's first photography collection, featuring images of West Lake in all four seasons. The author enjoys black and white photography, striving to avoid the allure of vibrant colors in his creations. Instead, he uses the inherent distance between black and white images and colorful reality to shape the rational beauty of his works, expressing his heart's vision of West Lake through concise and rustic black, white, and gray tones. In fact, black and white photography represents a choice for the author between reality and imagination. While it grants him unlimited creative potential, it also imposes higher technical and aesthetic demands on him. Especially in today's increasingly convenient production of traditional color and digital photography, black and white photography appears more primal and complex. To achieve a perfect black and white image, one must endure more hardships than color and digital photography, but the hands-on skillful control experience during the black and white photography process is something traditional color and digital photography cannot replicate. This is one of the reasons why the author has long remained committed to black and white photography.
