His childhood and youth were spent in unforgettable Fuyang and Hangzhou, where the lush green and blue waters of the Fuchun Mountains and the uniquely breathtaking scenery of West Lake nurtured his talent and sentiments. A significant part of his fresh, flowing, and passionate prose consists of descriptions of the landscapes and folk customs of his hometown, leaving behind a colorful and thought-provoking tapestry of scenes and emotions for later generations. Photographer Lu Zongyin is also an admirer of travel essays. He has visited Yu Dafu's hometown five times, tracing Yu Dafu's footsteps and capturing everything with his precious lens, aiming to bridge the gap of time and society to appreciate the charm of classic works. The fresh and expressive writing in the book, combined with vivid and insightful content, paired with captivating photographs, makes this selected works of Yu Dafu more three-dimensional and deeply moving, stirring the heart and soul, leading readers into a state of forgetfulness and immersion.
