Features: A book as magical as A Brief History of Time! Why does the world need praise? 122 stunning photos of water crystals that defy belief: water can read, water can listen, water knows the answers to life's questions. Western scientists say water is the source of life, and the earliest life originated from the ocean; 70% of the human body is water. Chinese philosophers say, "The highest virtue is like water. Water benefits all things without contention, dwells in the places others disdain, and is close to the Tao. The Message from Water poses questions that cannot be ignored—let us try to change our perspective, let us try to see the world through the eyes of water. Actions like war, conflict, racial discrimination, oppression of the weak, and environmental pollution immediately reveal their ugliness, while love, dedication, gratitude, kindness, and harmony yield radiant, beautiful crystals. In this sense, The Message from Water is also a book that encourages people to be good.
Since 1994, Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese medical doctor, began photographing water crystals. He collected water samples from around the world, placed them in a refrigerator, and captured their strange faces at the critical moment when ice was about to melt into water using high-speed photography technology. If the crystals were merely perfect, hexagonal, and crystal clear, that would be nothing special. The amazing part is that water that had been exposed to words like "love" and "gratitude" formed magnificent and solemn crystals, while water that had been exposed to hurtful words like "idiot" turned chaotic and ugly. Water that listened to Bach's music formed interconnected, wondrous structures like musical notes, while water exposed to loud, angry heavy metal music had a similar effect to being called an "idiot."
122 of these water crystal photos attempt to show that natural water always forms beautiful crystals, while artificially treated tap water and water placed near TVs, computers, and phones cannot form crystals. Even more astonishingly, water is sensitive to human-created languages, words (including Japanese, English, French, German, Chinese, etc.), and images. Water responds to kind signals with uniquely beautiful crystals but reacts to malicious curses with fear and despair. Water has the ability to copy, remember, feel, and convey information.
Humans are made of water, and understanding this is the key to understanding the entire world. If we observe our surroundings from this perspective, we will see a completely different landscape. The countless epics woven by humanity can be said to be stories reflected by water. Human society is like a vast ocean, and as we drop into it in our own ways, we participate in its functioning. I wanted to share the information contained in water with more people, so I decided to publish the water crystal photos I had taken.
Although the published book was just a tiny drop in the ocean, it unexpectedly sparked a huge response and gradually formed greater waves that returned to me.
