Features: The revised new book can be used as a textbook and self-study material for intensive German classes, public German courses (i.e., second foreign language courses), and online teaching. This book adheres to building a solid foundation in pronunciation, teaching the necessary and commonly used vocabulary, and focuses on grammar and basic oral instruction as the main thread, emphasizing the cultivation of students' reading, translation, and basic oral skills. Part and Part of the book contain 33 lessons, with Lessons 1-8 being the pronunciation stage, starting from Lesson 9, grammar is taught until Lesson 32. Lessons 15, 21, 27, and 33 are review lessons, each accompanied by a reading passage covering topics such as technology, folk tales, travel writing, and economics, while also reviewing previously learned grammar.
Part of the pronunciation tutorial consists of 8 lessons (16-20 hours of instruction). Students will learn all German pronunciation, pronunciation rules, 143 words, and simple dialogues. Part of the basic tutorial consists of 25 lessons (50-70 hours of instruction). Through these 25 lessons, students will master basic German grammar and 420 words. Grammar instruction can be conducted comprehensively through grammar explanations, grammar pattern examples, texts, dialogues, and exercises, while dialogues can be taught through narrative texts, dialogue texts, and corresponding exercises. Exercises are divided into two parts: in-class assignments and after-class assignments. The exercise volume is slightly more than needed, and teachers can select based on specific circumstances.
Parts and of the book are for reading, translation texts, and grammar, which belong to the same teaching stage (more than 20 hours of instruction). The reading and translation texts consist of 17 lessons, from which teachers can select a portion. The grammar section introduces key and challenging points of German grammar, deepening the understanding of basic grammar, with a total of 15 units.
The book was originally designed for 100 hours of classroom instruction and 200 hours of self-study. With the added content, the teaching time should be appropriately extended.
