Features: To help the staff of these organizations better provide necessary psychological counseling and support for single-parent women; and to facilitate the self-growth of some single-parent women, we have compiled this manual. The manual is divided into four parts: the philosophy of women's self-strengthening and the design of the group; the work procedures of the group; the sharing of growth experiences of women participating in the group; and notes for facilitating the group and reference materials. The target readers of the manual will include: social workers in the community, staff of the Women's Federation, staff of non-governmental organizations, researchers concerned with the status of divorced women, women who are currently experiencing divorce and those who have just left marriage, as well as faculty and students of social work majors in colleges and universities. As a in China, the editors have combined the theory of group work from abroad, especially women's group work, with the local social work practice in China. We believe that this manual is a product of the localization process of social work in China.
