Features: Zeng Xiang, styled as Yifu and Qutang, was born in Suizhou, Hubei in 1958. He graduated from the Military Academy of the People's Liberation Army (the predecessor of the National Defense University). He was mentored by Wang Ren, Liu Bingsen, and Shen Peng. Currently, he serves as a professor at the Training Center of the China calligraphy Association, a calligraphy professor at the Beijing University Union and other 16 universities in Beijing, and the Secretary-General of the Beijing Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association. His works have won the first prize in the 7th and 8th National Middle-aged and Youth Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition. In recent years, his works have also been selected for the inaugural "Popular Calligraphy and Popular Seal Carving" exhibition at Today Art Museum, the 20th Century Calligraphy Exhibition, the 1999 China Calligraphy Annual Exhibition, and the National Exhibition of Famous Calligraphers from China and Japan. His works are collected by institutions and friends in Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall of the People, as well as in Japan and South Korea. He has published works such as Introduction to Cursive Calligraphy, Qigong's Poems on Calligraphy in Steel Pen, Calligraphers' Styles in China—Zeng Xiang, and Selected Works of Calligraphers Nominated for the Popular Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition—Volume of Zeng Xiang.
