Features: Whenever we encounter sudden social news, whenever we hear and see the people and events around us—such as land desertification and river floods, children who have lost schooling and abandoned infants, prosperous cities and the backpack-clad figures in "red-light districts"—we can’t help but ask: How much of these events are natural disasters, and how much are man-made calamities? What has happened to "humanity"? When we place the "human" at the coordinates of "biology," we discover traces of human "evolution" and "degeneration"; when we place "humanity" in front of the mirror of "sociology," we find that "morality" and "personality" cultivation have lagged behind; when we consider "humanity" within the framework of "cultural studies," we uncover the broken links in historical inheritance.
Now, our country is in an era of unprecedented prosperity and development, and also an era of openness and humanism. People’s demand for a "healthy life" is no longer just about material satisfaction but also about nurturing "mental health." Only when the "body" and "mind" develop in sync can humans truly live a healthy life. The story of men and women is an ancient yet timeless topic. That’s why I wrote The Woman’s Soul Castle and The Man’s Spiritual Territory, attempting to place the secrets of the human mind in a broader coordinate system and seek answers to the so-called Heavenly Questions. I hope to advance together with young friends as we learn. In savoring the joy of success, let us also chew on our regrets. The ancient Yellow River winds its way through eighteen bends, allowing us to regain confidence in the echoes of history; the green mountains stretch endlessly across the land, enabling us to revive the spirit of the Great Wind Song in today’s melody. The fragility and dignity of life call out to us—cherishing life and loving life are the keys to stepping through the threshold of the "heavenly gate."
