Features: The planning and policies for sustainable industrial development are a global theme. Compared to such a broad topic, the scope and depth of the research results of this project are limited. Many policy discussions still need further refinement and continuous improvement in future development practices. The recently concluded Third Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed the need to establish a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development perspective. Implementing this new scientific outlook on development in industrial development will contribute to achieving sustainable development goals. This is an important field that requires the joint efforts of the Chinese academic community, theoretical circles, and government departments, and it is also an endeavor yet to be completed. We hope that the research work of this project can lay a foundation for further studies on how to implement a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development perspective in industrial development, and provide references for the government in formulating relevant policies.
