Features: Chinese calligraphy has a long history, with a rich heritage and numerous script styles, including regular, cursive, clerical, and seal scripts. It boasts various schools and renowned masters, representing generations of calligraphers. In terms of cursive script, figures like Huang Xiang of the Three Kingdoms, Zhang Zhi and Wei of the Han Dynasty, Su Jing and the Wang brothers of the Jin Dynasty, Zhi Yong, a Zen monk of the Sui Dynasty, Sun Guoting, Huai Su, Zhang Xu of the Tang Dynasty, Cai Xiang of the Song Dynasty, Song Ke, Zhu Yunming, and Wen Zhengming of the Ming Dynasty are all celebrated masters of cursive script. Since the Republic of China, Mr. Yu Youren, a famous calligrapher, gained international acclaim for his cursive script. His works are like the coiling and uncoiling of dragons and snakes, spreading out like a sprawling plate and then continuing. They resemble songs lingering in the air and the lingering charm of a qin player. Simple yet profound, bold and decisive, elegant without excess, rustic without crudeness, they combine extraordinary forms and multiple meanings. They are like the image of a hanging monkey drinking from a stream or the intertwined loops of hooks, embodying a divine transformation with endless variations. Mr. Yu Youren also recognized the difficulty of distinguishing between traditional cursive scripts and the works of previous masters. To further improve his own calligraphy skills, he enrolled in the Chinese Calligraphy Correspondence University and studied for five years with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. The version of Mr. Yu Youren’s Calligraphy and Poems was personally presented to Comrade Wang Xihi by the renowned calligrapher Ren Hanping, and published by the Shaanxi People’s Publishing House. This book contains ancient poems and Mr. Yu’s own verses. Experts have praised it as a masterpiece among the masterpieces of Mr. Yu’s posthumous works.
