Writing can strengthen the body, cultivate our temperament, deepen our understanding of traditional Chinese culture, and enhance our love for the Chinese language. In short, this series of calligraphy practice books is unique among similar ones. Holding these small books brings endless joy and profound benefits. These practice books are not only suitable for students but also for adults, allowing the traditional culture of our country to be passed down through generations and shine brightly. Let’s learn poetry and practice calligraphy together.
This series of calligraphy practice books integrates "reading," "writing," "learning," and "playing." To inherit and promote our country's excellent historical and cultural heritage, 140 ancient poems prescribed by the Ministry of Education's "New Curriculum Standards" for primary and secondary school students have been selected as content for calligraphy practice. In line with the Ministry of Education's "Calligraphy Teaching Outline," which emphasizes the importance of calligraphy teaching and the requirement for gradual progress, this series of practice books:
- Designates the primary school part as regular script practice.
- Designates the secondary school part as running script practice.
Primary and secondary school students can strengthen their memory of classical Chinese poetry and prose by writing and reading simultaneously, achieving the goal of "practicing calligraphy while reading, learning poetry through practice, and mastering both calligraphy and poetry."
To facilitate students' reading, the ancient poems are arranged by grade level. To help students understand the content, the book includes introductions and annotations. To spark students' interest in traditional culture, each practice book comes with a set of cartoon stickers. To prevent vision decline in adolescents, the best eye-protection color has been chosen for printing.
To enhance students' artistic appreciation, the covers and back covers of the practice books feature the ancient Chinese painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival." Connecting the covers and back covers of the eight books forms a complete "Along the River During the Qingming Festival."
Primary and secondary school students are in their growth and development stage. In designing the covers of this series of practice books, the following principles were followed:
- The covers for lower primary grades feature bright colors, creating a lively atmosphere.
- The covers for upper primary grades feature calm colors, giving a fresh appearance.
- The covers for middle school students feature light colors, exuding elegance. These practice books are arranged in a pleasing and orderly manner, looking upscale.
This series of practice books, meticulously planned by Huaxia Publishing House, is truly thoughtful and can be considered the best combination among all similar books. These practice books are well-edited, catering to the needs of primary and secondary school students at every turn. They are refined, gathering the essence in one place. They are worth buying, as they are full of treasures. They are ingenious, filled with fun at every turn.
Each sheet of these practice books has a transparent cover for calligraphy practice. After writing, the transparent paper can be removed and used as a copybook. It can also become an excellent collection of classical Chinese poems, used for appreciation and reading. The introductions and annotations for each poem will become your lifelong companions, helping you deeper understand the connotations and rhythms of classical poetry and prose.
Mr. Pang wrote a preface for this series of practice books, advocating his "happy calligraphy practice method." To improve students' appreciation skills, the back cover features winning works from national primary and secondary school calligraphy competitions. A creative corner is also provided for calligraphy enthusiasts to encourage the initiative and creativity of young people.
