Publish Date: 2004-05-01
Features: This book is the first textbook on general civil law in China after the founding of the country. The title design aims to be scientific, reasonable, and comprehensive, while the explanations strive for accuracy, standardization, and conciseness. It includes 11 chapters: Introduction, Civil Legal Relations, Things, Natural Persons, Legal Persons, Civil Legal Acts, Agency, Statute of Limitations, Dates and Periods, Exercise of Rights, Effect of Civil Law, Application and Interpretation. It was first published in 1996. Later, the author revised it in 2001, forming the second edition (originally titled the 2001 edition). The second edition mainly revised the parts of the draft contract law quoted in the book, supplemented and adjusted several chapters. At the same time, the second edition adopted most of the 70 revisions proposed by Zhang Gu for this book (first edition), revising its format, structure, arguments, and textual annotations to make it more vibrant. This book is an introductory textbook for civil law learners and an indispensable reference for civil law researchers.
