Features: Civilization is the sum of all material and spiritual achievements created by humans. In this sense, the history of civilization is also the history of the world. Past world histories emphasized short-term events, political incidents, and great figures, later adding relatively stable elements such as economic conditions and cultural situations. The history of civilization differs from world history because its unit of study is individual civilizations—their flow, development, and changes over the course of history.
As many traditionally underdeveloped agricultural civilizations transform into industrial civilizations, their economic and cultural prominence will increasingly stand out. Not only do some of the original ancient agricultural civilizations develop into dominant civilizations today, but with economic progress and industrialization, previously weak civilizations will also grow and strengthen, becoming new important civilizations. Therefore, despite globalization, the world will remain a diverse yet unified place in the foreseeable future, a world where different civilizations coexist.
