Features: To cultivate high-level applied and interdisciplinary legal talents in line with the requirements of socialist rule of law construction, the 13th meeting of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee passed a report on establishing the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program in 1995. In 1996, eight universities, including Renmin University of China, Peking University, and China University of Political Science and Law, were selected as the first batch to pilot the LL.M. program, marking the beginning of LL.M. graduate education. As of now, 39 universities across the country have enrolled LL.M. students, with an enrollment scale of tens of thousands. LL.M. graduates are gradually becoming backbone personnel in legislative, judicial, administrative enforcement, and legal service sectors. Since 2000, the LL.M. entrance examination has been implemented as a national unified exam, admitting only non-law majors. In 2003, in accordance with the Ministry of Education's regulations, the exam subjects were adjusted to four: Political Theory (100 points) and Foreign Language (100 points) were conducted as national unified exams, while Professional Foundation (150 points, including Criminal Law 75 points and Civil Law 75 points) and Comprehensive Subjects (150 points, including Jurisprudence 60 points, Chinese Constitutional Law 50 points, and Chinese Legal History 40 points) were implemented as national unified exams. The scope of the Professional Foundation and Comprehensive Subjects exams is based on the "National Unified Exam Syllabus for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations." In August 2004, the Ministry of Education Examination Center and the National LL.M. Education Guidance Committee adjusted the content of the "2005 National Unified Exam Syllabus for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations" and the "National Unified Exam Guide for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations" (Fifth Edition). To assist candidates in comprehensive learning and prepare for the LL.M. graduate entrance exam in January 2005 and the national unified exam for working professionals pursuing LL.M. in October 2005, Renmin University of China Press compiled and published "Synchronous Guidance for the 2005 National Unified Exam for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations" (formerly "Exam Guide"). This book is edited by Professor Zeng Xianyi and Professor Zhao Bingzhi of the Law School at Renmin University of China. The authors are professional teachers with extensive experience in pre-exam tutoring for the LL.M. national unified exam, possessing rich teaching experience and high authority. Based on the "2005 National Unified Exam Syllabus for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations" and the "National Unified Exam Guide for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations" (Fifth Edition), the book analyzes and explains key knowledge structures and difficult points, categorizes past LL.M. entrance exam questions, provides hints in each chapter, and includes selected practice exercises. The "2005 National Unified Exam Syllabus for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations" underwent significant revisions based on the 2004 syllabus. This book was revised based on the "2004 Synchronous Guidance for the National Unified Exam for LL.M. Graduate Entrance Examinations (Second Edition)" to reflect the changes in the 2005 syllabus.
