Features: The story takes place during the Jingyou era of the Northern Song Dynasty. The old martial artist, the eight-step flying master, Master Zuo Xian Gong, from Hangzhou, was tricked away by his enemies under the pretense of the imperial court. His wife, the female swordsman Yu Xue Mei, in order to protect the family heirloom—a priceless sword called "Dragon-Slaying and Water-Cutting Blade"—was chased by the enemies. In the midst of danger, she gave birth to a son, Zuo Liang, and the mother and son were saved by the old hero, Lu Kong, the founder of the Bagua Gate. Yu Xue Mei entrusted Zuo Liang to Lu Kong and set off alone to search for her husband. Under the guidance of his mentor, Zuo Liang grew up to become a master of martial arts in the Bagua Gate and began to establish the Bagua Gate sect. Along the way, he rescued the upright official Ni Jian Zu and dealt with the villainous Kang Shao Ying. Ni Jian Zu brought Zuo Liang to the Golden Hall to meet the emperor, where he demonstrated his extraordinary Bagua martial arts skills and was enfeoffed as the Qing Feng Great Hero by the emperor. The treacherous factions in the court conspired with the villains in martial arts—specifically the Emei Sect from Sichuan—to set up numerous obstacles, murder Zuo Liang and Ni Jian Zu, and prevent the establishment of the Bagua Gate. The young hero Zuo Liang, together with the monks of the Shaolin Temple, skillfully navigated the situation. Eventually, he met Liu Jiao, the founder of the Taiji Gate, at the heroic gathering on Mount Hua. After years of fierce battles, the Bagua and Taiji sects, along with the Shaolin monks, the martial arts villains of the Emei Sect and pacified Sichuan, establishing the Bagua and Taiji sects. Zuo Liang's family reunited, and Liu Jiao's mother and son were reunited as well. The entire story is full of novel plots, suspense, and ingenious arrangements. It also interweaves the romantic entanglements of the divine woman, Ling Fei Xue, the heroic woman, Yu Ya Xian, with Zuo Liang and Liu Jiao. In the end, Zuo Liang finally married He Tian Ling, the emperor's adopted daughter and a martial arts heroine.
