Features: Learning to play these short pieces is an important part of the curriculum for violin students. Through these pieces, we can learn to sing, breathe, phrase, articulate, various light, connected yet passionate right-hand bowing techniques, as well as expressive left-hand vibrato, sliding fingers, shifting techniques, and flexible rhythmic variations. By playing these pieces, we can widely encounter music from different countries and regions, greatly enriching our musical vocabulary and cultivating musicality. These pieces are not only excellent teaching materials for daily practice but also great repertoire for stage performances. This time, I and Mr. Goldhoff selected and compiled fifty-five pieces, divided into four volumes: "Song of Spring," "Contemplation," "Joy of Love," and "Prayer Hymns."
Bow and finger techniques are important means of expressing music in violin performance. As an outstanding violinist, Goldhoff's bow and finger techniques have distinct personal characteristics. His tone possesses the charm of vocal singing, and his vibrato is deeply moving. The four volumes of this collection are basically written according to the bow and finger techniques he used, but some also adopt two types of fingerings to accommodate students with lower proficiency for easier learning. Each of the four volumes, in addition to the piano accompaniment score and violin part score, includes a CD recording based on Mr. Goldhoff's violin performances. Several pieces in the CDs are played by his students Wu Zhengyu, Kana, Niefeni, and Daniel.
