Features: As the Chief Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Lord Liu Shichun had two daughters. As if fate were playing a joke, one was exquisitely beautiful but talentless, while the other was highly intelligent but unattractive. The stunning eldest daughter, Liu Jiyue, was already renowned by the age of fourteen. Wealthy young gentlemen from noble families would almost break down the doors and walls of the Liu family mansion just to catch a glimpse of her beauty and marry her. Of course, such a highly sought-after beauty could not stay single for long. At the age of fifteen, she was carried away by Tang Zhongxuan, the eldest son of the Chief Secretary of State, and it was truly a pity. Six months later, when the Crown Prince selected a consort, he was impressed by the peerless beauty of the eldest daughter and issued an edict summoning her to the palace for the Crown Prince's selection. However, he discovered that the beauty was already married, otherwise, Lord Liu Shichun would have been enfeoffed as the Duke of the Imperial Uncle by now. When selecting consorts, the Crown Prince usually chooses from among the daughters of imperial relatives or officials of the third rank or higher. Those with widely known beauty can directly enter the palace for selection, while others must first submit their portraits, which are then gradually chosen by the Crown Prince.
