Features: The "Newly Compiled Calligraphy Dictionary" set consists of five volumes, namely "Newly Compiled Regular Script Dictionary," "Newly Compiled Cursive Script Dictionary," "Newly Compiled Clerical Script Dictionary," "Newly Compiled Seal Script Dictionary," and "Newly Compiled Running Script Dictionary." This set is an expansion based on the previously published "Dictionary of Five Script Styles by Famous Calligraphers Through the Ages" by our press, aiming to provide more model characters from renowned calligraphers for friends who love calligraphy. This set carefully selects model characters from the five script styles—regular, cursive, clerical, seal, and running—taken from famous steles and scrolls throughout history. The collection spans from oracle bone script and bronze inscriptions, through the Shang, Western Zhou, Spring and Autumn Periods, Warring States, Qin, Han, Three Kingdoms, Western and Eastern Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and the Republic of China, down to modern masters such as Sha Menghai and Shen Yinmo after the liberation. It is comprehensive, covering virtually every conceivable example. The editorial approach is clear: each volume includes 3,000 character entries and over 20,000 model characters, with introductions to famous calligraphers and steles from the five script styles at the end of the dictionary. This set provides a relatively complete classical reference library for calligraphy enthusiasts. Moreover, the dictionary is exquisitely produced and affordably priced, making it an accessible tool for the general public.
