Features: This book collects 130 couplets by Mao Zedong, with 12 quoted couplets, totaling 142. They are divided into two parts: Part I and Part II. Part I includes 106 representative couplets from various historical periods, while Part II consists of 36 quoted and colloquial couplets. The titles of the articles serve as the titles of the sections. The couplets by Mao Zedong are arranged in chronological order. Each entry is divided into three parts: the original work (without the label "original work"), annotations, and appreciation. The historical background of the couplets is not introduced separately but is interspersed in the annotations or the appreciation. Some of the couplets collected in this book are actually phrases from inscriptions, articles, or letters and do not strictly adhere to the rules of couplets. However, the public has long accustomed to using them as couplets, making them "generally accepted" couplets. Examples include: "Deeply engage with the masses, avoid empty talk"; "Loyal to the country, even if dead, still alive"; "Develop the economy, ensure supply"; "To be the teacher of the people, first be the student of the people," and so on.
