Features: Yangqin, also known as Yangqin, has undergone evolution and accumulation over nearly four hundred years of being introduced to China, and has become a vividly colored Chinese folk plucked instrument. Its sound is melodious and elegant, and it excels in playing light, lively, and graceful tunes. In recent years, music education and examination activities have flourished, leading to a vibrant and colorful development in the Yangqin world, with more and more people worldwide learning to play it. To meet the needs of this evolving situation, we have carefully selected and revised the original "Yangqin Examination Course for Beginners and Advanced Learners" and meticulously compiled this new textbook.
This textbook is divided into nine levels, with Levels 1-3 being beginner levels, Levels 4-6 intermediate levels, and Levels 7-9 advanced levels. After Level 9, our institution offers a performance diploma level, which is higher than all domestic examination institutions' highest levels and roughly equips learners with the performance skills needed for professional development.
The textbook follows the principle of progressing from simple to complex, integrating technicality with fun, professionalism with accessibility. Starting with the basic single-note techniques of the Yangqin and the easy-to-learn middle registers in G and F keys, it combines etudes with pieces, emphasizing both technical and artistic development. This allows learners to gradually master correct and standardized Yangqin playing methods and various common techniques, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the stylistic characteristics of traditional Yangqin art forms and the musical connotations of both Chinese and foreign compositions.
Technically, this textbook focuses on comprehensive training in seven key techniques: single notes, double notes, tremolo, arpeggios, two-voice harmonization, and colorful techniques. Artistically, it strives to incorporate the stylistic features of both ancient and modern music. Following the principle of combining tradition with modernity, breadth with representation, the pieces selected for this textbook include both traditional classics and modern masterpieces. These works have both social influence and high value in performance, teaching, and appreciation.
We warmly welcome all Yangqin players and enthusiasts to actively participate in examination activities. We believe that through the study and training provided by this textbook, you will achieve remarkable progress in both performance skills and artistic cultivation.
