It also summarizes and categorizes similar grammar phenomena, while omitting common and simple grammar content that readers are likely already familiar with. In addition, this book covers some grammar issues rarely addressed in other grammar books or textbooks, or those mentioned but not elaborated upon. It also appropriately introduces certain changes in modern English grammar due to linguistic evolution, thereby maximizing the book's utility and laying a stronger foundation for readers to further their English studies.
In English grammar, the usage of verbs is crucial—they are the "backbone" of the language. Verbs are divided into finite and non-finite verbs, but Chinese students often confuse the structure, morphology, and usage of these two types, especially those in non-English major programs. This book highlights verb-related issues and places them in the first seven chapters. This differs from the traditional arrangement of grammar books and is entirely based on the author's 40 years of experience in teaching English grammar and long-term teaching practices. During the writing process, the editor referred to many authoritative foreign grammar books and dictionaries (see references at the end of the book). From these extensive grammar materials, the author has compiled the essence, making the content of this book both precise and up-to-date.
