Features: To rescue and explore the precious heritage of ancient Chinese medicine scattered overseas, the People's Medical Publishing House has published the "Series of Overseas-Returned Ancient Chinese Medical Classics," a project funded by the National Science and Technology Ministry's Special Fund for Basic Work. The classic ancient medical books included in this series are selected from nearly 200 domestically lost ancient medical classics returned from abroad over the past six years, which possess high academic standards and practical value. These books have been studied, compiled, punctuated, and annotated. This series comprises 62 volumes of ancient Chinese medical classics returned from overseas. The composition period of these ancient classics is all more than 300 years ago. Specifically, there are 5 books from the Song Dynasty, 5 from the Yuan Dynasty, 43 from the Ming Dynasty, and 9 from the Qing Dynasty. Among them, one was published or copied in the Yuan Dynasty, 38 in the Ming Dynasty, and 23 in the Qing Dynasty. This series preserves the original content of the publications from their original printing period, reflecting the development and level of medicine at that time. Their return to China has brought back to the nation ancient Chinese medical treasures that had been lost for over 300 years, providing rare and valuable documents for understanding the development of traditional Chinese medicine at that time, tracing the context and laws of the development of traditional Chinese medicine, and offering extremely precious literary value. At the same time, due to their practical content, they have been studied and compiled by modern scholars, embodying the new achievements of contemporary researchers, enhancing readability, and giving a modern touch, making them highly valuable for academic research and practical use.
