Features: This volume is the fourth in the series Overseas Return of Ancient Chinese Medical Classics, containing 2 ancient medical books that were lost in China. Among them, Medical Canon Combined Explanations is an 8-volume internal medicine book closely integrated with clinical practice. Volumes 1-2 discuss clinical diagnosis, disease causes, treatment methods, formulas, and the use of herbs according to the twelve meridians and viscera. Volumes 3-8 detail various diseases primarily from the internal medicine perspective, caused by six types of pathogenic factors such as wind, cold, summer heat, dampness, dryness, and fire. Medical General Canon is a series consisting of 7 parts: Commentary on the Difficult Canon with Additions, Needle Therapy for Treating Diseases, Essentials of Huai's Diagnostic Methods, General Overview of Medical Books, Huai's Random Sayings, Miscellaneous Records, and Commentary on Treatment. Except for Essentials of Huai's Diagnostic Methods, none of the other books were recorded in China. The series includes clinical insights and new ideas from several physicians. At the end of the volumes, there is an appendix—the only surviving Ming Dynasty local medical administrative examination paper in China today—providing valuable materials for researching Ming Dynasty medical administrative systems. The medical books in this series are pre-Ming Dynasty publications, rare and excellent copies that reflect the development of medicine before the Ming Dynasty. After being heavily punctuated and annotated, they hold significant academic, practical, and documentary value, making them suitable for reference by Chinese medicine researchers, medical professionals, and educators, as well as for libraries and archives to collect.
