Publishing Date: 2003-09-01
Features: This book is a scholarly work by the author, who has studied abroad in the East and West and combined it with practical Chinese realities. It systematically and practically elaborates on the theory and methods of economic mathematical models, aiming to help readers understand the entire process of building economic models, grasp the concept of modelization, and ultimately achieve the goal of using mathematical modeling methods and techniques to solve economic problems. As a teaching material project for universities in the 21st century, this book has been supported by the national education sector and is a result of the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Reform Pilot Project. Economic mathematical modelization refers to the entire process of proposing, designing, establishing, solving, proving, and applying economic mathematical models, with the purpose of researching and developing the role and functions of mathematical models in analyzing problems, logical thinking, and decision-making support in the economic field. In today's increasingly quantitative and econometrically oriented economics, economic mathematical modeling methods are becoming increasingly important. The book "Theory and Methods of Economic Mathematical Models" is co-authored by Professor Zhao Guoqing and Professor Yang Jian of Renmin University of China. It is a scholarly work by the authors, who have studied abroad in the East and West and combined it with practical Chinese realities. The book systematically and practically elaborates on the theory and methods of economic mathematical models, aiming to help readers understand the entire process of building economic models, grasp the concept of modelization, and ultimately achieve the goal of using mathematical modeling methods and techniques to solve economic problems. As a teaching material project for universities in the 21st century, this book has been supported by the national education sector and is a result of the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Reform Pilot Project. The book consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction to mathematical models, which first discusses some basic concepts of mathematical models, then presents the fundamental properties of mathematical models, and finally discusses the programming issues of the modelization process. Chapter 2 elaborates on economic statistical indicator models, mainly discussing how to use statistical indicator models to statistically process collected information and how to apply these indicators for empirical analysis. Chapter 3 elaborates on financial market risk assessment indicator models, mainly discussing the application of market risk evaluation indicator models in the preparation of business plans. It first briefly describes the evaluation models for market risk, then introduces some basic principles for writing business plans, and finally, using the case of project financing for a company in Beijing as an example, provides an application case of market risk evaluation indicator models. Chapter 4 elaborates on the foundations of econometric models, mainly introducing the entire modeling process of econometric models, including the basics of analyzing econometric models and some fundamental methods for establishing them. Chapter 5 elaborates on the theory and methods of macroeconomic models, based on the characteristics of the Chinese economy and modern economic theory, establishing a system of Chinese macroeconomic econometric models to provide readers with an example of building macroeconomic models. Chapter 6 mainly introduces how to use TSP to process economic data, mainly introducing some basic functions of the TSP software package and providing some simple examples of using TSP to estimate and predict economic models. In addition to being used as teaching materials for undergraduate and graduate students in universities, this book can also be read and referenced by economic theorists and practitioners.
