Features: When an excellent children's literary work appears, it often triggers a wave of enthusiasm and becomes a trend. However, fashion does not necessarily become a classic or a timeless masterpiece. Only works that contain profound content and perfect artistic form qualify to enter the "timeless" category. We hope that writers can create more and better works, and we also hope that a broader readership can pay more and warmer attention to the development of children's literature. Only in this way can more outstanding works become timeless classics, adding glory and brilliance to the cause of children's literature in China.
The protagonist, Wang Bao, is a first-year junior high school student. He is innocent, lively, and full of imagination. When he struggles with math problems or faces difficulties while building an electromagnetic crane in the science club, he fantasizes about having a magical treasure to help him overcome the challenges. Soon, this treasure—the Magic Gourd—actually appears. The Magic Gourd demonstrates great power, allowing Wang Bao to enjoy many delicious foods like smoked fish, scallion pancakes, and walnut candy. Maps and airplane models appear without him having to make them by hand. When he wants to go fishing, a bucket is filled with fresh, lively goldfish, and even a fish tank is provided. However, the Magic Gourd later brings him quite a few "disasters" and causes more trouble than it solves.
Although the Magic Gourd satisfies Wang Bao's desire for "having whatever he wants," this satisfaction is achieved through theft and possession. This burden weighs heavily on Wang Bao's pure heart, and he becomes estranged from his parents and classmates, living in constant anxiety. A treasured possession becomes a heavy burden on his mind.
