Addressing the overly "advanced" status of children's literature in China, a collection of world-class children's picture books has been published for children aged 2-8. The works encompass various genres: novels, poems, essays, dramatic stories, picture books, fairy tales, and biographies of famous figures. The novels include science fiction, animal novels, fantasy novels, treasure-hunting novels, detective novels, horror novels, as well as realistic and romantic novels reflecting modern and contemporary life.
Four. The 35 selected books share a common characteristic: strong readability, appropriate length, and all are accompanied by exquisite illustrations, truly making them picture books. Among American writers, Henry James has the longest writing career, the most extensive output, and the greatest influence. His short stories and novellas are distinctive in style, skillfully executed, and focus on depicting the inner world of characters. His masterpiece is "The Turn of the Screw." On the surface, it is a thrilling ghost story, but it actually carries profound moral implications. The short story "Daisy Miller," included in this book, was called by the author himself as "the lucky work I created." It tells the moving story of a young, beautiful American woman, with an ending that leaves one sigh in regret. And "The Real Thing" is a brilliant short story.
