Features: The Chinese nation is one of the most passionate about collecting. Throughout history, there have been many renowned collectors. Since the reform and opening-up, a nationwide "collecting fever" has swept across China. However, collecting is an art, and even seasoned collectors can sometimes fall victim to scams. Nowadays, not only are fakes of calligraphy, paintings, and antiques rampant in the market, but even auctions are occasionally plagued by forgeries—truly a headache for collectors.
Given this, we have compiled and published this series of "Bao Fo Jiao" books, divided into two series: "Identification of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting." This series particularly emphasizes "practicality" and "actionability," aiming to provide genuine assistance to avid collectors. All the authors are not only experts in their fields but also "collectors" and "enthusiasts," with practical experience. They have all "found hidden gems" in their respective areas of expertise, and some of the works featured in the books are even their personal collections.
The author of Identification of Ancient Mirrors, Mr. Shi Zhengdong, is currently the Deputy Director of the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Press and Publication and the Vice President of the Jiangsu Collectors Association. We asked him to write this book not because he is a government official, but because of his significant contributions to ancient mirror collecting. Perhaps his professional background in casting technology has given him a deeper understanding of the historical context of these mirrors, which has enabled him to build an extensive and distinguished collection.
In the past, teachers often criticized those who neglected classes but crammed for exams as "making last-minute prayers to Buddha." So, does "making last-minute prayers to Buddha" actually work? It probably does, because most people have indeed passed exams this way. In collecting, the same principle applies—provided you're praying to the right "Buddha." Our series is called "Bao Fo Jiao," and we are indeed "praying to the right Buddha."
As the saying goes, "If you don’t burn incense,.,.《》,." Please believe that this is true. If you are passionate about collecting, why not buy a set of our books and give "praying to the right Buddha" a try?
