Little Snow

Author: Wang Bang, edited and illustrated by Li Chaoxiong
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-06-01
Features: This is a full-color comic book that is unpretentious and free from pretense, embodying the true spirit of the urban generation. In terms of artistic style, it differs from the cartoons of the past era such as "Dragon Ball," "Saint Seiya," "Doraemon," or "Disney Comics," as well as from the melancholic sweetness of J's comics or the urban philosophical tone of Zhu Deyong's works. Instead, it draws more from the personal experiences of the young cartoonist, the Eastern aesthetic concepts inspired by the Japanese artist An Sei-Sui Maru, and the aesthetic tastes of street graffiti artists (the OutStreet community). Pop music, electronic music, Ambient, and ChiliOut are all sources of inspiration for its creation. The warmth that flows from its text, colors, and lines allows it to resonate with its readers—friends who are not despairing or overly sentimental about love in the concrete jungle—giving them a sense of clear purity.
