Features: This book consists of 14 chapters, focusing on guiding discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of relatively common cardiovascular diseases in clinical practice. It incorporates the latest research findings and consensus formed by domestic experts, reflecting the current state of development in this field. As is well known, cardiovascular diseases are common and prevalent clinical conditions and have become the leading threat to human health. With the extensive and in-depth research on these diseases, diagnostic and treatment technologies have advanced rapidly. The growing body of scientific and technical information and the continuous publication of a vast amount of literature make it overwhelming for clinicians, especially busy cardiologists, to keep up. There is a pressing need for a reference book that is distinct from general monographs and clinical handbooks, yet relatively standardized and serves as a guiding tool for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Based on this need, we have organized the writing of this "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiologic Diseases" under the commission of the China Union Medical University Press. The field of cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment, along with its related content, is extremely broad. Therefore, we do not aim for this book to be all-encompassing within its limited pages. For relatively independent specialized disciplines such as electrocardiography, echocardiography, interventional diagnosis and treatment of the heart, etc., which have already developed into relatively independent fields, only brief introductions are provided in the relevant disease discussions. Similarly, for relatively uncommon cardiovascular diseases, only brief mentions are made in differential diagnosis discussions, without dedicated chapters.
The book focuses on guiding discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of relatively common cardiovascular diseases in clinical practice, striving to incorporate the latest developments in these topics, particularly the latest achievements in evidence-based medicine research, consensus formed by domestic expert groups, or newly released guiding and advisory opinions. We aim to make the book both reflect the current state of development in this field and provide strong practicality and guidance for clinical internists, especially cardiologists.
The book is divided into 14 chapters, including arrhythmias, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, hypertension, coronary heart disease, myocardial diseases, pericardial diseases, congenital heart diseases, and common bedside cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment techniques. The book primarily consists of text with a few tables, omitting all illustrations. The arrangement of chapters, item numbering, and other sections follows the conventional style preferred by most readers in China rather than the international standard.
The writing of this book would not have been possible without the valuable theories and experiences inherited from predecessors and colleagues at home and abroad. The authors express their highest gratitude to all of them here. Given the authors' limitations, there may be numerous shortcomings or errors in the writing process. We sincerely invite colleagues to provide criticism and corrections.
