Features: Chinese design art is a complete and successful example in the history of world creation art before the Industrial Revolution. Previous studies of creation history often focused on craftsmanship and technology. This book is based on the academic naming of "design art," highlighting the essential power of human beings in the creation process. The upper part is historical research, discussing the basic characteristics and evolutionary context of Chinese design art, proposing the design history operation theory of "stage-based breakthrough advancement," and dividing the history of Chinese design art into three major periods: The first period spans from the primitive society to the Han Dynasty, a period of development for Chinese design. In the Han Dynasty, a complete and unified system of creation design was formed, which remained largely unchanged for two thousand years. The second period spans from the Wei and Jin Dynasties to the Song Dynasty, the golden age of Chinese design. It continuously borrowed and integrated foreign creation elements, promoting stylistic transformation. Before the Song Dynasty, design was characterized by artistic conception, while after the Song Dynasty, it tended toward realistic design. The third period spans from the Yuan Dynasty to the modern era, a period of continuity and renewal for Chinese design. Design diversified into two major mainstreams: the upper class and the folk. The lower part is thematic research, conducting in-depth exploration of major theoretical issues such as the original state of creation design and the dynamic structure of its evolutionary process. This book observes the creation art activities over thousands of years from a new perspective, establishing a "historical perspective" of thinking while proposing the design history operation theory of "stage-based breakthrough advancement." It provides a summary assessment of the characteristics and development of Chinese design art.
