Features: St. Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city, has been called the "Northern Palmira" by Russian literary works since the 18th century. It is as rich and beautiful as the ancient Syrian city of Palmira. However, three hundred years ago, the land where St. Petersburg now stands was a desolate swamp. The climate conditions of St. Petersburg are also harsh. During my studies in Russia, I encountered four different climates in just one day in June. It has a long and glorious civilization, world-famous figures, brilliant and magnificent architectural sculptures and paintings, as well as literature, music, and dance that shine across the world and remain timeless. All of this endows it with boundless cultural value, making it the bearer of the Russian national spirit. She is St. Petersburg—not just a geographical concept that serves as a window to the world to display history, but also a symbol of the Russian spirit that embraces the strengths of both Eastern and Western cultures.
