Features: The painter, drawing upon the spiritual essence of heaven and earth, and weaving it with the wondrous imagination of the human heart. The painter stands between heaven and earth, surrounded by all phenomena. With a fusion of thought and interest, they suddenly draw with a stroke, pursuing what they see, hear, and feel. With a resounding cry, they create works in myriad forms, thus achieving masterpieces. Our country's painting has deep roots, dating back to Gu Kaizhi in the Jin Dynasty. For over a thousand years, countless schools have emerged, with outstanding masters in every generation. From the south to the north, brilliant craftsmen have emerged, each with distinct styles, forming their own unique traditions. The vast Yangtze River and the majestic Kunlun Mountains are not enough to describe their lofty heights. Later generations, wishing to learn the details and appreciate the subtleties, find it difficult. I was born unable to paint, but by observing the works of ancient and modern masters and their inevitable changes of the time, I have come to understand that learning the rules leads to understanding the lack of rules. The predecessors have said that this path is full of opportunities to express one's aspirations. Is that so? Reading through the masterpieces of past generations, I feel that their methods are like mirages and flowing water, seemingly present yet elusive; while their lack of rules is like the boundless blue sky and clear water, vast and endless. Our society gathers works from ancient and modern times, selecting the finest of the masters, describing their lives, artistic theories, technical characteristics, and their lineage, allowing readers to see a glimpse of the whole through a part, understand an era's painting through a single painter, and grasp the of China's millennia-long painting civilization through the works of dozens of renowned painters. Due to the passage of time and frequent wars, countless masterpieces have been lost or damaged. There are famous painters whose works no longer exist, there are paintings that survive but are few in number, and there are painters who are renowned but whose lives and deeds are not recorded. As a result, few images and texts remain, and introductions cannot be complete. Thus, we compile works by several painters, which is better than having nothing at all. In the past, Ouyang Xun compiled "The Art and Literature Collection" and said, "I wish to make every family rich in pearls and every person carry jade, so that the predecessors can compile their collections, each expressing their own views." This collection embodies that very idea. The main content of "Hong Ren" includes an overview of Hong Ren's life, his thoughts and ecology, his artistic journey, selected excerpts on art, excerpts from reviews by various scholars, a brief chronology, and appendices of his major surviving works, accompanied by numerous high-quality printed illustrations, making it a richly illustrated collection. "Complete Collection of Famous Chinese Painters." This book includes the Chinese paintings of the renowned painter Hong Ren.
