Garden of Eden

Author: Hemingway
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-06-01
Features: American young writer David and his wife Catherine go from Paris to the Mediterranean coast of southern France in the mid-1920s for their honeymoon, indulging in a romantic sexual life. David wants to continue writing, but his wife only wants to enjoy the moment, getting her hair cut short, and even after meeting foreign girl Martita, she encourages her husband to love her, and the three of them plunge into a dangerous sexual game. But the "good times" don't last long. Because Martita supports David's writing, Catherine breeds hatred out of jealousy, burns his manuscripts, and leaves with a letter. Under Martita's care, David's creativity flows like a spring, rewriting his favorite short story exactly as it was, and returns to the "Eden." This is Hemingway's posthumous work published after his suicide in 1961. Although written in his later years when his health was declining, the entire book radiates the passion of life and love, making it a rare youth novel.
