Features: This dictionary is revised based on the Dictionary of Adjective Usage. The original format has been adjusted, and some content has been added or deleted. It includes 1,067 adjectives, primarily common ones, as well as some distinctive ones, with a total of 1,329 entries. Based on linguistic facts, it provides detailed descriptions of the usage of each adjective under its respective entry. It offers convenience for both Chinese and foreign learners and researchers of modern Chinese. The dictionary is organized into four columns: "Function," "Headword," "Reduplication," and "Example Sentences."
"Function" refers to the sentence components that adjectives or adjective phrases can serve as. "Headword" is essentially part of "Function." It refers to both the central role of adjectives or adjective phrases as headwords and their central position when combined with other words, such as when followed by "." We have included a "Reduplication" column to inform readers which adjectives can be reduplicated, which cannot, and the forms they take after reduplication. More importantly, it helps readers understand the differences and similarities between reduplicated adjectives and their original functions.
"Example Sentences" is a special column designed to fully and accurately reflect the actual usage of modern Chinese. Any normal usage of modern Chinese that does not fit into the above categories is included here.
