Features: As human interactions become increasingly complex, the affairs of communication also grow in number. To convey matters and express sentiments, letters are of utmost importance. Over thousands of years, many excellent pieces have emerged, scattered across historical records and the works of renowned scholars. This collection meticulously selects and compiles them. In the Spring and Autumn period, the art of writing was highly refined. Works such as the "Letter from Ziji to Zhao Xuanzi" and "Letter from Shuxiang to Ziyuan" recorded in the Zuo Zhuan are excluded as they are already included in the classics. The names of letters vary. Those used for higher purposes include memorials, petitions, letters of introduction, and notes. For those used for lower purposes, there are notes, messages, and directives. Those used for both upper and lower levels are called "statements." In essence, they are all types of writings. Historically, collectors of letters have categorized them differently. This collection includes all types without distinction, except that the formal letters suitable for official correspondence are not included in the category of memorials.
