Features: We are learners of history. Perhaps due to the inertia of historical research, we always strive to understand the origins and developments of certain historical phenomena. Over the years of historical research and teaching, our original research focus was one on the history of Chinese agricultural development and the other on the history of Chinese urban development. However, the continuous in-depth study of agricultural culture and urban civilization has led us to realize that to truly understand the events in Chinese history, it is necessary to study the history of Chinese culture. This is because everything is governed and constrained by cultural connotations. For this very reason, we came together after years of research, jointly selecting the history of Chinese culture as our shared research topic. Cultural phenomena themselves manifest as a form of "historical" movement. Exploring the emergence, development, and evolution of Chinese culture through a "historical" lens allows for a deeper understanding of its essence and the characteristics and patterns through which Chinese culture shapes the Chinese people. The history of Chinese culture is long-standing, vast, and profound in content, and it is impossible to systematically and comprehensively discuss all aspects of it in a single book. Here, we can only briefly explore the resilient survival ability and inclusive developmental mechanism of Chinese culture, and roughly outline the trajectory of its historical development. Therefore, the title of the book is "A Brief History of Chinese Culture."
