Features: This book is based on the teaching syllabus for the three-year vocational school communication technology program "Principles and Maintenance of Wireless Pagers" issued by the Ministry of Education in August 2001, and incorporates the authors' extensive experience in teaching and practical activities related to the principles and maintenance of wireless pagers. The book has been recommended as a national planning textbook for 21st-century vocational education. In terms of writing, the textbook strives to highlight the characteristics and reform spirit of current vocational education, emphasizing practicality and focusing on cultivating students' creative and practical abilities. The distinctive features of this textbook are primarily reflected in the following points:
(1) It fully embodies the spirit of the Ministry of Education's "Four Diminutions" and emphasizes the three-character principle of "simple," "new," and "practical." It aims to enable students with weaker foundations to truly master the basic knowledge of wireless paging technology, the fundamental principles of pagers, and simple testing and maintenance skills in a relatively short period.
(2) In terms of content selection, it carefully balances the "essential" and "sufficient" aspects. Given the limited class hours for this course, the textbook selects "essential" content from the vast amount of theoretical knowledge and practical techniques, while ensuring it aligns with the current level of vocational students—avoiding excessive depth or breadth, as it should only be "sufficient."
(3) In terms of structure, it adopts a combination of basic modules and optional modules to accommodate flexible teaching requirements. The "basic module" consists of mandatory teaching content, while the "optional module" is content that schools can choose to include based on their specific circumstances. The purpose of the optional module is to broaden students' knowledge without affecting the teaching of the basic module. Optional modules are marked with an asterisk ().
(4) According to the teaching syllabus requirements, this course is a core subject for the communication technology program, with the goal of cultivating high-quality laborers and intermediate to junior specialized talents who can work in production, service, technical management, and other roles in the communication equipment industry.
