Economic law is a general term for legal norms that the state uses to appropriately intervene in socioeconomic life in order to maintain and promote the public interest and correct market defects. The development of China's economic law in the new era is closely linked to the country's reform and opening-up efforts and the gradual establishment of the socialist market economy legal system. The content of China's socialist market economy legal system is very extensive, including: laws that regulate market entities; laws that regulate market behavior; laws that regulate market order; laws that regulate macro-control; laws that regulate social security; laws that regulate opening-up and foreign-related economy; and so on.
Based on the practicalities of cadre education and correspondence teaching, we have selected and organized the content of economic law to form the structure of this book. The principle we follow is to consider both the completeness and systematic nature of the economic law system and the practicality and relevance of cadre education and learning. At the same time, we base our content on the new laws and regulations issued by the state, striving to achieve scientific and up-to-date content.
