Features: In the new context of the knowledge economy and economic globalization, the intense international competition has become prominent as a competition in science and technology and talent. In modernization efforts, the demand for talent as a "resource" is even more urgent. In recent years, China has been increasing its investment in graduate education with unprecedented intensity, as developing graduate education not only cultivates high-level academic research talents in fundamental science and high-tech fields, which are crucial for national development, but also trains applied and interdisciplinary talents for economic development lines. Graduate English is a required course for all graduate students as stipulated by the Ministry of Education, and is one of the key components of the graduate training program. In accordance with the "Interim Implementation Measures of the Regulations on Academic Degrees of the People's Republic of China," foreign languages are exam subjects for obtaining a master's degree, and foreign language proficiency is a critical criterion for awarding the degree. To meet the requirements of cultivating graduate students in the new era, promote teaching innovation, implement differentiated instruction, and ensure the quality of degree course teaching, we completed the drafting of this outline under the guidance of our graduate school. This outline is based on the "Examination Syllabus for Master's Degree Courses in English for Non-English Majors" formulated by the Graduate Work Office, as well as the relevant documents of the Ministry of Education on graduate education, and the regulations of the University of Science and Technology of China's graduate school on the examination for master's degree courses in English. It specifies the format, content, timing, and scoring of the examination. It also includes sample papers, answers, listening texts, supplementary listening examples with reference answers, as well as a vocabulary list and common prefixes and suffixes.
