Features: Bebel Wadetsky's book benefits from nearly a decade of medical experience in treating patients with narcissistic personality disorder. When the number of female patients with bulimia sharply increased, we quickly realized that focusing solely on symptoms (eating disorders) was too superficial. We should strive to understand the patients' life worlds, which led to the concept of "female narcissism." Many patients found themselves in this concept, and their illness was understood and accepted by others. They decided to search for their inner "lost child." Often hidden beneath their glamorous exteriors are emotional dysregulation and a loss of confidence. They crave recognition and reveal their true selves. The hunger of the binge eater is a manifestation of this craving, but it cannot be satisfied with food. These individuals, or what can also be called the "true" self, suffer from an unbearable superficiality of appearance. Not only the individuals involved but also the entire environment must discover, acknowledge, and accept them. This discovery of the "true" self marks the beginning of recovery. Therefore, people must be patient, caring, and enduring in nurturing this "inner child."
